Holiday Earrings: Etsy Style

Posted on

Since I celebrate Christmas in my house, this post is dedicated to Christmas earrings. Not to say these can’t be worn for other similar holidays (Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, etc.).

I know I do a lot of posts on Etsy, but it’s just such a great place to find unique and beautiful earrings. On to the gallery…

And here are the links for each of the shops they came from:

Happy shopping, everyone!

Soar With Wing Earrings

Posted on

I saw a pair of wing earrings a long time ago…they were white gold and breathtaking. Little did I know that wing earrings would become a growing fashion trend. Wing earrings are great for the fall because they have that earthy and homey feel to them. Metal wing earrings are also great for holiday parties because they have a funky and fun vibe.

Bows Aren’t Just for Presents

Posted on

Since the holiday season is quickly approaching, I thought I would do a post about bow earrings. I love earrings with bows incorporated into them. They add a touch of elegance without being too overpowering. Bows can also add a touch of whimsicalness.

Betsey Johnson has several bow earrings styles available at Macy’s. As you can see, she uses a lot of sparkle in her designs, which I love, haha.

Shake Your Tailfeather…Or Maybe Just Feather Earrings

Posted on

Fall is approaching. Which means it’s time to break out the feather earrings. Feather earrings create a soft look and the colors are oftentimes shades of leaf colors to go along with the fall season. Plus, Thanksgiving is in the fall! Which, obviously involves turkey. Which, usually have feathers. Although, I try not to wear real feather earrings because, for some reason, that creeps me out a little. So, on to the artificial feather earrings! haha

Drop It Like It’s Hot…with Drop Earrings

Posted on

This might be one of my favorite earring trends at the moment. Drop earrings are so simple, yet elegant. I’m always on the lookout for earrings that I can wear with all kinds of outfits and drop earrings are amazingly versatile. There are TONS of drop earrings available to purchase in stores and on-line. Forever 21, Maurices, and Macy’s all have a pretty good/large selection. And now for some earspiration, haha.

And here are a couple examples of drop earrings from my personal collection…

I believe both of these earrings were purchased at Francesca’s Collections. Can you tell I’m a big fan of gold? haha.

Fun With Geometric Earrings

Posted on

It’s a new school year, might as well post geometric earrings, right? Ha, get it? Anyway, geometric earrings are always a classic choice no matter what the outfit. The smaller geometric earrings go great with more casual outfits while the more elaborate geometric earrings go well with dressy and/or formal outfit. On to the geometric glam!

Splurge Purchase: The middle photo is a pair of earrings by Monique Péan from Barneys New York. These earrings are 18k recycled white gold with wooly mammoth ivory and white diamonds. I saw them and had to share them with you all – so gorgeous! They are listed at $7,075 at barneys.com here.

Fall Is Here, Time for Some Leaves

Posted on

Fall is my favorite season. The colors, the temperature, and brand new school supplies (even though I have graduated from college, haha). And of course, the changing color of the leaves. To celebrate the beginning of fall, I thought I’d post some leaf earrings.

Leaf earrings are great because they can be designed very formal or informal. Even some formal leaf earrings can be worn with casual outfits. Let the leaves fall…

In addition to all of these fabulously stylish earrings, etsy.com has a great boutique called Jeunebugs who specializes in jewelry made from real leaves dipped in gold, silver, or copper. Check out her boutique here.

Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend

Posted on

Marilyn Monroe (although originally performed by Carol Channing) got it right when she sang, “diamond’s are a girl’s best friend.” Every woman should own a pair of diamond earrings. They don’t have to be big and elaborate or anything, they don’t even have to be a full karat. They just need to be diamonds. Why, you ask? Diamonds have the power to make a woman (or man, I suppose) feel special. There’s something very regal and timeless about a diamond.

If you’re reading this blog, you might be aware of the 4 C’s of diamond purchasing. But, I will cover them briefly.

  • Cut ~ The cut of a diamond affects how much it sparkles. If it is cut at the right angle, the sparkle will be fantastic. This is generally what people look for first in their diamonds.
  • Color ~ The color of a diamond is generally some shade of yellow, although not blatantly noticeable by the average human eye. The purest diamonds are completely colorless and, consequently, the most expensive.
  • Clarity ~ The clarity of a diamond measures how many imperfections are in the diamond. Since diamonds are made mostly in nature, it’s natural for some imperfections to be present.
  • Carat ~ The carat refers to the diamonds weight. Note: The weight of a diamond does not always reflect its size.

I Wanna See Your Peacock

I couldn’t resist referencing Katy Perry in the title, haha. So I love love love peacock earrings – whether it’s the colors or the peacock animal itself. There’s something so elegant about peacocks.

My favorite is the dual-color sparkle earrings from Forever 21.

The Season of the Owl

I’ve been seeing owl earrings/jewelry all over the place so I thought it would be great to make a post dedicated to owl jewelry. Ready, set, go!

My personal favorite are the studs from Francesca’s Collections. They’re just enough bling and are extremely versatile.
