Etsy Artist: betsyandiya

Posted on

Guess what?! I got a JOB. That’s why it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Well, that and holiday shopping and such. Anyway, this post features etsy artist (well, technically, artists) betsyandiya.

According to their Etsy page, “Focusing on asymmetry, betsy & iya jewelry inspires confidence, packs attitude, and winks at strangers. Big statement pieces, mixed vintage metals, repurposed hardware, hand-formed findings and pop colors push boundaries and exude sex appeal.”

I love their earrings because they’re interesting pieces without being too artsy. They are also very fashionable with their art deco style and a contemporary twist. And now, on to the gallery…

All ear wires, clasps, and closures are sterling silver and individually hand-formed and fused by the betsy & iya team in their Portland, Oregon shop. Prices range from $17.50 to $59.00.

Monet @ Younkers

Posted on

One of my favorite places to go shopping for jewelry is Younkers (one of the Bon-Ton stores). They have a huge selection and relatively low prices. And when they don’t have low prices, they have a sale. Score!

The brand at Younkers that I have continually bought stuff from is Monet. This line is great because the jewelry is fairly high quality but still affordable. It’s a pretty simple line…not a lot of dangles and glitz. Here’s a small selection of the earrings available on their website:

Drop It Like It’s Hot…with Drop Earrings

Posted on

This might be one of my favorite earring trends at the moment. Drop earrings are so simple, yet elegant. I’m always on the lookout for earrings that I can wear with all kinds of outfits and drop earrings are amazingly versatile. There are TONS of drop earrings available to purchase in stores and on-line. Forever 21, Maurices, and Macy’s all have a pretty good/large selection. And now for some earspiration, haha.

And here are a couple examples of drop earrings from my personal collection…

I believe both of these earrings were purchased at Francesca’s Collections. Can you tell I’m a big fan of gold? haha.

Fun With Geometric Earrings

Posted on

It’s a new school year, might as well post geometric earrings, right? Ha, get it? Anyway, geometric earrings are always a classic choice no matter what the outfit. The smaller geometric earrings go great with more casual outfits while the more elaborate geometric earrings go well with dressy and/or formal outfit. On to the geometric glam!

Splurge Purchase: The middle photo is a pair of earrings by Monique Péan from Barneys New York. These earrings are 18k recycled white gold with wooly mammoth ivory and white diamonds. I saw them and had to share them with you all – so gorgeous! They are listed at $7,075 at barneys.com here.

Fall Is Here, Time for Some Leaves

Posted on

Fall is my favorite season. The colors, the temperature, and brand new school supplies (even though I have graduated from college, haha). And of course, the changing color of the leaves. To celebrate the beginning of fall, I thought I’d post some leaf earrings.

Leaf earrings are great because they can be designed very formal or informal. Even some formal leaf earrings can be worn with casual outfits. Let the leaves fall…

In addition to all of these fabulously stylish earrings, etsy.com has a great boutique called Jeunebugs who specializes in jewelry made from real leaves dipped in gold, silver, or copper. Check out her boutique here.

Gold Dangles ~ Francesca’s Collections

Posted on

These earrings are from Francesca’s Collections. Francesca’s is great because they’re almost always having some sort of sale on their jewelry and most of their jewelry is unique and high quality without being super expensive.

While I’m sure these earrings are not real gold, they are sturdy enough to give the illusion that they are. Exact price is unknown since they change their inventory so frequently but they were under $15.

The earrings are simple enough that you can dress them up or down. I wore them today with a red school t-shirt, skinny jeans, and black/white striped flats.
